2026 BMW i7 facelift launched in India at Rs 1.95 crore
BMW India has updated its flagship electric sedan with the launch of the facelifted i7. Prices start at Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom) for the i7 eDrive 50, while the performance-focused i7 M70 xDrive is priced at Rs 2.65 crore. Up front, the sedan gets a more upright, squared-off kidney grille with illuminated surrounds, accompanied by redesigned LED headlights and a reworked bumper.
New alloy wheel designs have been added to the range, while the flush-fitting door handles continue to be part of the design. At the back, BMW has fitted smoked-effect tail-lamps and revised the tailgate and bumper. The M70 xDrive is differentiated by a larger front air intake and additional M branding. M badges are positioned around the Hofmeister kink and on the outer sections of the rear light clusters, while the performance variant rides on 21-inch alloy wheels.
BMW has made more substantial changes to the interior than the exterior. The updated i7 adopts the company's Panoramic Vision display, which projects information across the lower section of the windscreen, replacing the conventional driver display.
The central touchscreen continues to be a key part of the dashboard and now measures 17.9 inches. It runs BMW Operating System X and supports over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as upgraded voice-control functionality. A new 14.6-inch display has also been added for the front passenger.
The centre console has been redesigned to create additional storage space and reduce the number of physical controls. A new cylindrical rotary drive selector has been incorporated, while the dashboard itself has been redesigned. The steering wheel is now a four-spoke unit similar to those seen on BMW's Neue Klasse models.
Rear passengers continue to get the i7's standout 31.3-inch 8K Theatre Screen, paired with a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with Dolby Atmos. Other equipment includes powered doors, a panoramic glass roof with more than 40 LED lights, powered ottomans, connected-car features and Level 2 ADAS.
The seats are electrically adjustable and also offer heating, ventilation and massage functions, while the cabin retains BMW's Boss Mode feature.BMW i7 facelift: More range, more power
The i7 eDrive 50 is powered by a 112.5kWh battery pack and produces 455hp and 600Nm. It can accelerate from 0-100kph in 5.5 seconds and has a top speed of 210kph. Its WLTP-certified range has increased to 728km, which BMW says is 125km more than the outgoing version.
At the other end of the line-up is the M70 xDrive, which uses a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup. It develops 680hp and 1,015Nm in Sport mode, with torque rising to 1,100Nm when Sport Boost is activated. The M70 can complete the 0-100kph run in 3.8 seconds and has a 250kph top speed. Despite its higher performance, its claimed WLTP range is 686km.
Both variants support DC fast charging at up to 250kW. BMW says the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes, while a 10-minute charging session can add up to 235km of range. Using a 22kW AC charger, a full 0-100 percent charge takes around six hours.
BMW is also offering a wallbox charger with both variants, including installation. The home charger supports charging at up to 22kW.
The i7 eDrive 50 will be assembled locally at BMW's Chennai facility, while the more powerful M70 xDrive will be brought into India as a completely built-up unit.
With the facelift, the i7 continues to sit at the top of BMW India's electric sedan line-up, combining a longer claimed range with increased performance and a substantially updated interior.
