2027 holidays: EDSA anniversary still a special working day
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang released on Friday a list of regular holidays and special non-working days for 2027.
Under Proclamation 1427, the regular holidays are New Year’s Day on Jan. 1; Maundy Thursday on March 25; Good Friday on March 26; Araw ng Kagitingan on April 9; Labor Day on May 1; Independence Day on June 12; National Heroes Day on Aug. 30; Bonifacio Day on Nov. 30; Christmas Day on Dec. 25 and Rizal Day on Dec. 30.?
Special non-working days are Ninoy Aquino Day on Aug. 21, All Saints’ Day on Nov. 1, Feast of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8 and the last day of the year on Dec. 31?
The EDSA people power revolution anniversary on Feb. 25 will be observed as a special working day.?
The special non-working days are Chinese New Year on Feb. 6; Black Saturday on March 27; All Souls’ Day on Nov. 2 and Christmas Eve on Dec. 24.?
The dates for Eid’l Fitr and Eid’l Adha will be declared in accordance with the Islamic calendar or upon Islamic astronomical calculations.
Meanwhile, Marcos declared Sept. 12 as a Day of National Mourning over the passing of National Artist for Literature Resil Mojares.
Mojares was cited for his contributions as a “teacher, scholar, essayist, fictionist and historian, which contributed in the promotion of regional literature and history, as well as the formation of Cebuano and national identity.”
