2027: Kwara farmers, families back Tinubu, AbdulRazaq, SYD

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kwara State chapter, have supported the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu, the senatorial bid of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the governorship bid of the Speaker of the State Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.

They disclosed their support for the trio and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates at a media parley in Ilorin.

The group’s chairman and coordinator, Mallam Shuaib Ajibola and Alhaji AbdulRahman Babatunde, said the decision was borne out of AbdulRazaq’s impacts on agricultural sector in Kwara.

They listed some of his interventions to include: payment of N2bn loan to farmers affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, maize palliative care to 10,000 beneficiaries, subsidised inputs support like resistance seeds, high yield varieties with herbicides and fertiliser in 2019/2020.

They also mentioned the sponsorship of 7th Agric Fair 2024, provision of flora fertiliser inputs support, 2024, tractorisation support for farmers in 2020, recent distribution of maize inputs to 2000 beneficiaries and other specific agriculture impactful programmes such as L-PRESS, ACRESAL, SAPZ, FADAMA amongst others.
