The Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor and stakeholder of the CityBoy Movement in Ado-Odo Constituency II, Solomon Olarewaju, has commended the group for its grassroots mobilisation and efforts to secure victory for President Bola Tinubu and the Ogun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, in the 2027 elections. Olarewaju, in a statement on Monday, praised the leadership and members of the movement for taking the message of the Tinubu administration to communities across the state through various programmes and mobilisation activities. He said the growing presence of the movement at the grassroots would strengthen the APCβs structure and increase support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to him, the activities of the CityBoy Movement have also created opportunities for youths and other stakeholders to participate actively in political engagement and mobilisation. βI want to commend the CityBoy Movement in Ogun State for the tremendous efforts they are making through their programmes and grassroots mobilisation. YAYI had earlier set the target during the inauguration of the CityBoy Movement in Ogun State, calling on members to mobilise at least two million votes for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Olarewaju continued, βWe are reiterating the commitment to deliver and mobilise over two million votes for President Tinubu in Ogun State. The CityBoy Movement stakeholder, who is also the convener of the OSA Movement, said YAYIβs emphasis on youth participation was significant, noting that young people had an important role to play in political mobilisation and governance. βYAYI has continued to demonstrate interest in youth participation and mobilisation. His engagement with young people is something we believe should be sustained because the youths have an important role to play in the political and governance process,β he added. Olarewaju urged members and stakeholders of the CityBoy Movement across Ogun State to remain committed to peaceful political engagement, grassroots mobilisation and voter participation as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify. He said the movement would continue to work towards securing support for Tinubu, YAYI and the APC across the state. Olarewaju, who was recently appointed an ECOWAS Council Youth Ambassador, said he remained committed to expanding youth development, mobilisation and youth-oriented governance initiatives across West Africa.
