'3 Idiots' director is writing possible sequel to hit 2009 film - GMA Network
Will "3 Idiots" finally get a sequel after 17 years?
Rajkumar Hirani, the director of the hit Indian film, is currently writing a possible continuation to the story of Rancho, Farhan, and Raju.
In an interview with Asian News International, Hirani said casting will be the same if the film pushes through.
"Once it reaches the right point, then we will talk about it," he said. "We are still writing."
"3 Idiots" starred Aamir Khan as Rancho, R. Madhavan as Farhan, and Sharman Joshi as Raju.
Released in 2009, the film follows three engineering students as they navigate the rigid and high-pressure Indian education system.
Hirani said the possible sequel will be set 20 years after Rancho, Farhan and Raju's college life. βJade Veronique Yap/MGP, GMA News
