3 overreactions to the Vikings' Week 2 victory over the Bears - Vikings Wire

It was an ugly performance, but the Minnesota Vikings stormed into Soldier Field and defeated the Chicago Bears 9-3. A downpour from the skies made conditions difficult, but this defense was able to slow down Chicago's elite offense. Here are three overreactions from Minnesota's week two victory.

Overreaction, or accurate statement?

Dallas Turner was excellent in week one against the Green Bay Packers, and followed it up with an even better performance today. Turner ended the day with nine QB pressures, five total tackles, and two sacks. This year, Turner has five sacks, which will end the week toward the top of the NFL. Turner came into the year under immense pressure, and he has lived up to the billing.

Speaking of living up to the billing, this was the coming-out party for defensive tackle Caleb Banks. Banks had a great showing today, finishing with six total tackles, including a tackle for loss. There is still a need for consistency in his game, but we saw significantly more flashes than we saw last week.

We obviously can't wait for Jordan Mason to return from IR, but Aaron Jones showed today he is more than capable of holding down the ground game. Jones had 23 carries for 105 yards, which is such a breath of fresh air compared to years past. He did appear to get banged up in the second half, so we will wait to see the severity of his injury.
