33 Suspected MBG Food Poisoning Cases in Padalarang, Food Samples Under Examination
WEST BANDUNG, KOMPAS.com - Food samples from the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchen in Cipeundeuy Village, Padalarang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, have been sent to a laboratory to determine the cause of suspected food poisoning affecting dozens of students.
The samples will be tested for chemical and microbiological content in the food.
The test results are expected to be released no later than one week after the samples arrive at the laboratory.
"The food samples were sent to the health laboratory for testing last Monday. We will find out whether substances in the food triggered the poisoning or not. The results will be available within a week," said West Bandung Regency Health Office head Lia N Sukandar in a press statement on Tuesday (15/9/2026).
The Health Office recorded 33 individuals experiencing health issues suspected to be linked to consuming the MBG meals prepared by the Padalarang Cipeundeuy Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) kitchen.
Victims received treatment at four health facilities: RSUD Cibabat, IMC Cimareme Hospital, Graha Medica Hospital, and Harapan Sehat Clinic.

"The majority have recovered; only one person remains hospitalized at Cibabat, and seven are at RS IMC," Lia stated.
Earlier, SPPG Padalarang Cipeundeuy head Maulana Hamdan Fathussudur affirmed that the entire process—from food preparation to distribution—had followed standard operating procedures (SOP).
This statement came following reports that dozens of students from several schools in Cipeundeuy experienced health issues suspected to be linked to the MBG meals.
Maulana said the menu served to students on Wednesday was black pepper chicken.
He assured that meal presentation and delivery to recipient schools were conducted according to the established guidelines.
"The menu was black pepper chicken. The timing and serving procedures adhered to SOP," Maulana said during an interview on Monday (14/9/2026).
SPPG Padalarang Cipeundeuy currently supplies MBG meals to 11 schools, serving a total of 1,407 beneficiaries.
