48 years, countless memories: Chiranjeevi says 'Your love is my eternal identity'

Actor Chiranjeevi completed 48 years in cinema on September 22, marking nearly five decades of a journey that began with Pranam Khareedu in 1978. But as he looked back on the years of stardom in an emotional note, countless successes and honours, the Megastar chose to spotlight something far more personal — the love that turned the name “Chiranjeevi” into an identity of its own.

Reflecting on nearly five decades in cinema alongside the poster of his debut film Pranam Khareedu, Chiranjeevi looked back at the many characters he has portrayed and the recognition he has received over the years. He also credited the producers, directors, co-stars and technicians he has worked with for shaping his journey and helping him reach where he is today.

“In these 48 years, I have portrayed so many characters. I have witnessed so many victories. I have received so many awards and honours,” he wrote, before thanking the producers who trusted him, directors who explored different facets of him as an actor, and the cast and crew members who worked on his films.

However, Chiranjeevi said the affection he received from audiences remains more important than his professional achievements. “But greater than all those victories is the love you have shown me. More valuable than all those honours is the place you have given me in your hearts,” he wrote.

Thanking fans who had treated him like a member of their families, the actor reflected on how the name Chiranjeevi became inseparable from his identity. “On that day, ‘Chiranjeevi’ was the name I took. Today, with your love, it has become my eternal identity,” he added, signing off with “eternal gratitude”.

The milestone comes during another busy phase in Chiranjeevi’s career. He began 2026 with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi and co-starring Nayanthara. The Sankranthi release emerged as a major commercial success.

Chiranjeevi is currently working on Bobby Kolli’s Kaaka, in which he plays K Satyam. The film also stars Anaswara Rajan as Ammulu Paapa and is scheduled to release worldwide on January 13, 2027. The makers recently reiterated the Sankranthi release date amid speculation about a possible postponement.
