49ers WR Mike Evans carted to locker room after injury vs. Cardinals - Niners Wire

The San Francisco 49ers have dealt with injuries at the wide receiver position all season, and that trend doesn't seem to be stopping just yet.

During Sunday's Week 3 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium, wide receiver Mike Evans, who was questionable heading into the game, suffered an injury on a third-and-10 incompletion from quarterback Brock Purdy.

Evans was clearly in a lot of pain getting off the field with help from the training staff. He was eventually carted back to the locker room. It's unclear what exactly Evans is dealing with.

With De'Zhaun Stribling, Demarcus Robinson, Ricky Pearsall and Christian Kirk all on injured reserve, the 49ers will have to ride with Deebo Samuel, Jacob Cowing, Jordan Watkins and KhaDarel Hodge.

Evans has been ruled out with a rib injury. This means San Francisco's receiving corps is going to be very thin for the rest of the game. The 49ers may have to rely on their tight ends and running backs more in the passing game going forward.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he's dealing with a rib strain and will be evaluated on Monday.
