The earthquake occurred at a depth of 376 km (234 miles), making it a deep-focus quake. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

The latest tremor came a day after another magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck the Banda Sea near Indonesia’s Maluku Island on Friday. Indonesia’s geophysics agency said that quake occurred at a depth of 143 km (89 miles) and had no tsunami potential.

There were no immediate reports of damage from the Banda Sea earthquake either.
