Indonesian authorities say a ferry capsize in the Java Sea has left six people dead and 129 others unaccounted for.
The ferry departed Surabaya in East Java for Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan on Saturday.
The search and rescue agency says the ship's operator informed it early Sunday that it had lost contact with the vessel.
It was carrying about 240 passengers and crewmembers. More than 100 were rescued. The crew told the operator they were experiencing bad weather and the ship was listing.
Indonesia is home to more than 10,000 islands. Ferries are a common form of transportation in the country.
