The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday, October 31, 2026, announced the list of 40 candidates for the Punjab Assembly election due next year.
Sitting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who is seeking re-election from Dhuri, said 40 names — including his own — have been announced after the meeting of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of the AAP.
As part of the announced key candidates, several prominent leaders have been slated for major constituency races. Amansher Singh will contest the Batala Assembly constituency in the 2027 Punjab elections; Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has been nominated from Ajnala, Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar from Amritsar South, and Harmeet Singh Sandhu from Tarn Taran.
The Assembly elections in Punjab are due in early 2027, with polling expected around February-March. The five-year term of the 117-member Punjab Assembly ends on March 16, 2027.
