Abu Dhabi Crown Prince turns back to thank Indian chauffeur who drove him to airport
Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was in New Delhi for the BRICS Summit, has made headlines after a video showed him turning back to thank the Indian chauffeur who drove him to the airport before leaving the capital.
India hosted the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam on September 12 and 13 under the theme “Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.” The summit brought 13 world leaders and 17 delegations to New Delhi.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, Sheikh Khaled was seen stepping out of his car at the airport and greeting dignitaries as he prepared to depart. However, just as he was about to leave, he appeared to realise that he had not greeted his chauffeur. He turned around, walked back to the car, shook hands with the driver and spoke to him briefly before leaving.
His gesture has gone viral, with users praising the Crown Prince for taking a moment to personally acknowledge his driver. Sheikh Khaled was in New Delhi representing UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The talks covered energy supplies, trade, artificial intelligence, financial cooperation, education and tourism.
The discussions also addressed regional security concerns amid the West Asia crisis, the safety of Indian seafarers and the UAE's participation in the BRICS framework.
During his engagements around the summit, PM Modi met with several global leaders for formal bilateral discussions.
