People Against Special Intensive Revision (PASIR), a platform of various class, mass and civil society organisations campaigning against the SIR, has urged President Droupadi Murmu to ensure that no further election is held using the SIR voter rolls.
In a statement issued on Saturday (November 7, 2026), the PASIR National Coordination Committee said it had resolved to intensify its struggle against the SIR.
Among its other demands, PASIR called for the prosecution and removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, restoration of voting rights of all citizens, a return to paper ballots, and repeal of the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Act of 2023. It also demanded that the Supreme Court’s guidelines be adopted to ensure the democratic accountability of the ECI.
The organisation called for comprehensive electoral reforms, including proportional representation, measures to curb money and muscle power, and legalisation of State funding of elections to restore and strengthen the democratic system.
“The system that has put together this illegal, unconstitutional machine must be made to pay,” the organisation said.
PASIR will also launch a nationwide campaign, Reclaim Our Democracy, from November 26 to December 20. “The protests will begin with the reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India,” the statement added.
