Ahmedabad man accuses wife, in-laws of tantric rituals, extorting money; case against 6

A 26-year-old man in Ahmedabad has filed a police complaint against his wife, in-laws and three others, alleging mental torture, threats, money extortion and the use of tantric rituals against him.

The complainant, originally from Patan in Gujarat, married a woman from Gondia in Maharashtra. According to his complaint, he began finding her behaviour suspicious soon after their engagement and later accused her of threatening to harm him and his family through tantric rituals and of implicating them in false cases.advertisement❮❯ Read Full StoryHUSBAND ALLEGES WIFE DEMANDED MONEYThe man told police that after the marriage, his wife allegedly demanded large sums of money from him. When he refused, she allegedly threatened to file false cases against him and his family.

He also alleged that she frequently abused him and subjected him to prolonged mental harassment.

According to the complaint, the woman later allegedly told him that she had relationships with other men and claimed that she had been brought into his life only temporarily through black magic. The man also told police that he found photographs of several tantric practitioners on his wife's mobile phone.ALLEGED TANTRIC RITUAL PERFORMED ON VIDEO CALL

The complainant further alleged that his wife arranged meetings between him and two tantriks. He claimed that his wife and mother-in-law subsequently spoke to him over a video call while the alleged tantric ritual was performed.

According to his complaint, such rituals were performed on him twice. The man alleged that after the rituals, he experienced a sensation of heaviness in his body and a sudden deterioration in his physical condition.CASE REGISTERED AGAINST 6 PEOPLE

The man said he eventually approached the police after becoming distressed by the alleged harassment and threats from his wife, in-laws and the tantriks.

Police have registered a case against six people, including the complainant's wife, based on his allegations and have begun an investigation.

The allegations made in the complaint are yet to be established, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the marriage, the alleged demands for money, threats and the claims regarding tantric rituals.- Ends
