AJK President Naqi, chief justice stress respect among state institutions, strengthening rule of law

Chief Justice of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Supreme Court (AJKSC) Raja Saeed Akram Khan on Thursday called on President Dr Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan, discussing a range of matters concerning the constitutional and institutional framework of AJK, with particular emphasis on upholding the Constitution, strengthening the rule of law, and ensuring mutual respect and cooperation among state institutions. The two sides exchanged views on measures aimed at providing the people of AJK with speedy, effective and accessible justice, along with the importance of strengthening the judicial system and improving the delivery of justice in accordance with constitutional principles. Matters concerning public interest and other issues of mutual interest were also discussed. Both parties stressed the importance of constitutional institutions performing their respective responsibilities while maintaining institutional respect and cooperation in the region. They also covered matters relating to public interest and the broader role of constitutional institutions in ensuring effective governance, protection of rights, and access to justice. The president, as head of state, and the chief justice of the SC occupy key positions within the constitutional framework of the region. The meeting concluded with an exchange of good wishes and a commitment to continue working within the constitutional framework for the welfare of the people of AJK.
