Alden Richards breaks down over pressure to find love in 'Gandang Gabi Vice' guesting - GMA Network

Alden Richards got emotional as he opened up about the pressure he's felt to find love and realized that, after years of searching for it in another person, he needed to learn to love himself first.

On the pilot episode of “Gandang Gabi Vice” on Sunday night, the Kapuso Multimedia Star talked to Vice Ganda about the pressure of being single at 34.

“I feel like my love life has been elusive for the past 15 years because I’ve been trying to find it,” Alden said in Filipino.

The “Love, Siargao” actor admitted to having moments of pressure about being 34 and not yet having a family, especially because of the expectations that come with Filipino culture.

“We live in a culture of deadlines,” he said. “But I don’t think that’s how I want to live my life right now.”

According to Alden, he decided to stop actively searching for a relationship after his last experience in love.

“I’m not saying I won’t fall in love,” he said. “I’m not saying I’m not waiting for the person who is meant for me because, for the longest time, I’ve been looking for the one.”“Maybe, for a change, I’ll just wait for that person to come,” he added.

Alden then became emotional as he talked about what he had been looking for in a relationship.

“For the longest time, I’ve been looking for love from another person, and I realized that what I was lacking was self-love,” he said while crying.

“It took so long,” he added. “I only realized it now.”

Alden recently hosted "Rebuilding Broken Rooms," a GMA Public Affairs documentary about the state of education in the Philippines.
