Alex Eala feels at home in Singapore Tennis Open - GMA Network

Despite being miles away from Manila, Alexandra “Alex” Eala feels right at home in Singapore as she competes in the Singapore Tennis Open.

As the only WTA 500 tournament in Southeast Asia, the Singapore Tennis Open gives fans across the region a chance to watch some of the best players in world tennis, including the Filipina ace.

“I do feel a ton of support, and I feel so at home, you know, being in Southeast Asia, and being at such a familiar location,” Eala said in an interview with the WTA.

“I’ve been competing here for such a long time, ever since I was really young, so it's nice to be back as a professional.”

With Singapore being a familiar place for Eala, the Filipina also encouraged fans to try the country’s food. She added that she hopes to visit Universal Studios if she has the time.

For now, Eala will face Tatiana Prozorova in the round of 16 on Thursday.
