Alex Eala gets sampaguita-themed T-shirt collection from sports brand - GMA Network

Nike is honoring Filipino tennis star Alex Eala with a special piece celebrating her Filipino heritage.

On her Instagram Stories, Eala shared a photo of a Nike T-shirt collection featuring the sampaguita, the Philippines’ national flower.

The newest T-shirt collection is available in retail stores in Orchard, Singapore.

Last year, Eala received a hair tie adorned with a single sampaguita flower from the sports brand.

At this year’s Wimbledon stage, she wore a visor embroidered with the Filipino phrase "Kapag lumago, hindi na hihinto," which she also received from Nike.

Eala is currently in Singapore for the Singapore Tennis Open and secured the third seed, emerging as the tournament’s third-highest-ranked player based on the WTA list released Friday. —Jade Veronique Yap/JCB, GMA News
