Alex Eala set for Diana Shnaider rematch in Pan Pacific Open quarterfinals - GMA Network

Alexandra “Alex” Eala is set for a rematch against world No. 13 Diana Shnaider in the quarterfinals of the Pan Pacific Open.

Eala rallied from a set down to defeat Talia Gibson, 4-6, 6-2, 6-0, securing her first quarterfinal appearance of this year’s Asian swing.

Shnaider, meanwhile, booked her spot in the last eight with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 victory over Aliaksandra Sasnovich.

The two players met just last week in the second round of the Ningbo Open, where the Filipino ace fell to Shnaider, 7-5, 6-4. Eala will now have a chance to avenge that defeat when they meet again in Tokyo.
