Ganpati Bappa came home, and Alia Bhatt has given fans a little peek into the celebrations. The actor, on Saturday, shared a set of pictures from her family’s Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, bringing together Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt and, of course, daughter Raha.

Alia kept the caption short and sweet: “the week that was”. The pictures, however, tell a fuller story. From welcoming the Ganesh idol home to performing the puja and aarti, the family appeared to make the most of the festival together.

One of the sweetest moments comes courtesy of Raha. The little one is seen sitting with crayons and colouring a sketch of the Ganesh idol. Her face, however, remains covered with a white heart emoji, in keeping with her parents’ long-standing decision to keep her away from the paparazzi.

Alia is seen performing the aarti with Ranbir, Neetu and Raha in another picture. She also poses with her mother Soni and sister Shaheen, giving fans a glimpse of the larger family celebrations.

The post comes days after the family was seen together for Ganesh visarjan. Ranbir carried the Ganpati idol as he chanted, “Ganpati Bappa Morya”, while Neetu joined him with a thaali. Alia, dressed in a pink-and-green kurta suit, held Raha close as they made their way through the gathering.

At one point, Alia could be seen walking backwards while holding Raha, carefully shielding her from the camera flashes. It was a small but telling reminder of how firmly the couple has maintained their boundary around their daughter’s privacy. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani)

Away from family life, both Alia and Ranbir have a busy slate ahead. Ranbir is currently working on Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, in which he plays Lord Rama alongside Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The first part is scheduled for release this Diwali, with the second part planned for 2027.

He is also part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which reunites him with Alia and also stars Vicky Kaushal.

Alia, meanwhile, was last seen in Alpha, where she played a trained assassin. She will next appear in Love & War and also has Tumbbad 2 with Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the pipeline. She has also turned producer for the Prime Video show Don’t Be Shy, which is set to stream from September 25.- EndsPublished By: Anisha RaoPublished On: Sep 19, 2026 21:07 ISTALSO READ | The Baahubali era of pan-India cinema is dying a slow death and signs are everywhere
