All 3 Accused Arrested in Kalkaji Temple Minor Gang-Rape Case After Police Encounter - Republic World
New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested all three men accused of impersonating police personnel and gang-raping a minor girl in a secluded forested park area behind the Kalkaji Temple in Southeast Delhi.
The incident came to light on Monday evening after a distress call was made following the assault inside Astha Kunj Park.
According to the complaint, the minor girl and her male friend visited the Kalkaji Mandir for *darshan* before taking a walk into the adjoining Astha Kunj Park through Gate No. 7.Β
At around 7:30 PM, three men aged between 25 and 30 years approached them and threatened the duo, allegedly claiming to be police personnel.
The impersonators separated the girl from her friend. One of the accused restrained the victim's friend while another accused, identified as Asif, allegedly threatened the girl with a firearm and a knife before sexually assaulting her.Β
Subsequently, the two other accused allegedly sexually assaulted the minor in turns. Before fleeing the scene, the attackers threatened both the victim and her friend.
A Police Control Room (PCR) call was received at around 8:45 PM. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Amar Colony Police Station, along with police staff, reached Astha Kunj Park and located the minor with her male friend.Β
The victim was immediately sent for a medical examination at AIIMS Hospital.

The Crime Team and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team examined the scene inside the park to collect evidence. Multiple dedicated teams were constituted across the district to trace and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
A police team led by Inspector Rajender Dagar (In-charge, Special Staff, South-East District) received information regarding the movement of accused Asif near DM Office Road in Amar Colony, where a trap was set.
When intercepted, Asif allegedly opened fire at the police team, firing three rounds. Despite orders to surrender, he continued firing.Β
During the exchange of fire, one bullet struck the bulletproof jacket of Head Constable Rajesh. In self-defence, a police officer fired two rounds, one of which hit Asif in his right leg.
The injured accused was apprehended and shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre for treatment. Forensic teams subsequently inspected and collected evidence from the encounter site.
Hours after the encounter, Delhi Police arrested the remaining two absconding accused, identified as Hemant and Mukesh. With these arrests, all three accused named in the case are now in custody.Β
Police are analysing CCTV footage from the park and surrounding areas while interrogating the three suspects to establish the complete sequence of events.
Gupta, who met with the victim's family earlier, noted that the family was going through mental anguish and was in a vulnerable condition, assuring them that the Commission would extend all possible support during this difficult period.
