Alvin Kamara limited in Saints' practice ahead of Week 1 game at Lions
New Orleans will open its 2026 NFL regular season on Sept. 13 versus Detroit. The season opener between the Lions and Saints is slated for 1 p.m. EDT at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan (Fox).
New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara was listed on Wednesday and Thursday's NFL injury report. He was listed as limited participation for both practices (knee).
Kamara played in 24 games, including eight starts, forย the Volsย from 2015-16. He totaled 1,294 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 683 receiving yards, seven receiving touchdowns, 284 punt return yards, one punt return touchdown, 16 kick return yards and completed one passing attempt for 24 yards.
Kamara transferred to Tennessee from Hutchinson Community College in Hutchinson, Kansas. The former Vol also transferred to Hutchinson Community College fromย Alabama.
He was a third-round selection by the Saints in the 2017 NFL draft (No. 67 overall). Kamara was named 2017 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
