Andhra Pradesh's next big bet is deep tech. Here's how IIT alumni fit into the plan
Andhra Pradesh is preparing to bring technology leaders, IIT alumni and innovators together as it looks to strengthen its position in emerging technologies. The PanIIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 will take place on October 3 at the Dr B R Ambedkar Convention Centre in Vijayawada.
Organised by PanIIT Alumni India, the summit will focus on building a technology and innovation ecosystem aligned with the state's vision of Swarna Andhra Pradesh 2047 and Viksit Bharat 2047.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has invited young entrepreneurs, innovators and the global IIT community to contribute ideas and expertise to the state's development plans.FROM ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TO SPACE TECH
The summit will be held under the theme 'Andhra's DeepTech Decade: Anchored by PanIIT – Swarnandhra to Viksit Bharat 2047'.
Discussions will cover artificial intelligence, semiconductors, data centres, quantum technologies, defence and aerospace, green energy, MedTech, AgriTech and AI-enabled governance.
Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh is also expected to participate.
Among the participants are representatives from the National Health Authority, NXP Semiconductors, IIT Madras, IBM, L&T Aerospace and Honeywell Aerospace.IIT ALUMNI AND INDUSTRY JOIN HANDS
The summit will also explore long-term partnerships between the Andhra Pradesh government, industry and the IIT ecosystem.
Proposed initiatives include a PanIIT Amaravati Council, DeepTech investment mechanisms and a Global IIT Mentor Network.
PanIIT Alumni India Chairman Prabhat Kumar said the state's global diaspora and emerging technology potential could support its ambitions to become a technology and innovation hub.
Summit Chair Swadeep Pillarisetti said the initiative aims to connect technology, capital and skills across government, industry and all 23 IITs.
