Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is currently one of the top-paid CEOs in Silicon Valley. In fact, the compensation he received in 2025 was higher than what Google CEO Sundar Pichai received. According to Anthropic’s IPO filing, Dario received $18 million in total compensation in 2025, putting his annual pay above Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Amazon CEO Andy Jassy.

The disclosure of Dario’s pay comes as Anthropic prepares for a possible public listing that could value the Claude maker at more than $2 trillion. According to Reuters, Dario received $18 million in total compensation in 2025. However, that $18 million was not his annual salary. Most of the package came from stock and other equity-linked awards, while his actual salary was $1.4 million.

His sister and Anthropic president, Daniela Amodei, received $16.4 million in total compensation last year, with stock and option awards again making up most of her package.

According to the report, the siblings’ salaries were doubled to $1.4 million each in July. Anthropic’s board has also granted both of them additional restricted stock units this year. Some of those awards are linked to their continued employment at the company, while others are tied to a potential IPO. This means their eventual value could depend heavily on how Anthropic performs after going public.

For comparison, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai received $10.9 million in reported compensation in 2025, while Amazon CEO Andy Jassy received $2.1 million. But there is more to their pay than these figures suggest. Once the changing value of their stock awards is included, Pichai’s pay comes to $213.9 million, while Jassy’s stands at $13.2 million.

So, while Amodei’s reported $18 million compensation is higher than that of Pichai and Jassy, the actual value of his overall wealth could be very different. Founder CEOs often build much of their wealth through the shares they own in their companies, rather than through their annual salaries.IPO of Anthropic

Meanwhile, the disclosure of Dario’s pay comes as Anthropic moves closer to a potential IPO. According to its prospectus seen by Reuters, the company could go public as early as this autumn, with its valuation potentially exceeding $2 trillion.

The comparison also shows how differently AI companies are approaching executive pay. While Amodei’s package was $18 million, Oracle co-CEO Clayton Magouyrk received $627.5 million in 2025. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, meanwhile, received just $54,080 as SpaceX CEO before the company went public.

Meanwhile, Anthropic has also said that the Amodei siblings and its other co-founders have pledged to dedicate 80 per cent of their personal Anthropic equity to charitable causes.- EndsAlso Read | Meta found serious security issue with Muse AI, rushed to fix it before launchAlso Read | Meet 19-year-old Zain Javaid and his Gen-Z team building the Mac Mini of AI agentsAlso Read | Hard question, Sam Altman says when asked about ChatGPT-linked user suicide
