Anti-protest measures hit court hearings

The judicial system for hearing cases in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad has been severely disrupted due to the expected Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) sit-in and long march on Sept 27. Prisoners lodged in Adiala Jail have stopped being brought to the courts in Rawalpindi Division and District Islamabad for hearings. The vehicles used to transport prisoners from the jail to courts have been converted into prison vans and sent near Attock Bridge, while police personnel assigned to bring prisoners from the jail to courts have also been deployed on security duties at various intersections.
