Apple's new Mac mini and Mac Studio are now available in India, price starts at Rs 99,900
Apple’s new Mac mini and Mac Studio are now available in India, bringing the company’s latest Apple silicon to its desktop lineup. The Mac mini comes with M6 and M5 Pro options, while the Mac Studio gets M5 Max and M5 Ultra variants. With the new chips, Apple is positioning the updated desktops for everyone from everyday users to professionals. Both machines are also built for on-device AI and run macOS 27 Golden Gate, with Apple Intelligence features and Siri AI.
The new Mac mini and Mac Studio are available through Apple Store locations, the Apple Store online, the Apple Store app and Apple Authorised Resellers. The Mac mini with M6 starts at Rs 99,900, while the M5 Pro version starts at Rs 2,09,900. Meanwhile, the Mac Studio with M5 Max starts at Rs 2,79,900, and the M5 Ultra variant starts at Rs 6,29,900.
For education buyers in India, the Mac mini with M6 starts at Rs 88,900, while the Mac mini with M5 Pro starts at Rs 1,97,900. Apple is also offering Trade In, shopping and setup support, build-to-order options, business support and Today at Apple sessions for skills including photography, music and coding.The power of the new Apple Mac mini
Apple says the Mac mini is aimed at everyone from everyday users and students to developers, creative professionals and businesses. The M6 version features a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU with Neural Accelerators in each core, and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. The new chip promises to deliver up to 4x faster AI performance, 2x faster graphics and storage, and 40 per cent faster CPU performance compared with the previous generation. The Mac mini starts with 16GB of unified memory, can be configured with up to 32GB, and offers memory bandwidth of up to 170 gigabytes per second.
The Mac mini with M5 Pro is aimed at more demanding work, including video production and game development. It supports up to an 18-core CPU, a 20-core GPU and 64GB of unified memory, with memory bandwidth of up to 307 gigabytes per second. Both models support Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and 2.5Gb Ethernet, with a 10Gb Ethernet option also available.
For professional users, Apple has the Mac Studio, designed for demanding workloads such as real-time 3D, motion graphics and AI. The M5 Max version features an 18-core CPU, up to a 40-core GPU with Neural Accelerators in each core, and up to 128GB of unified memory.
The Mac Studio with M5 Ultra goes further with up to a 36-core CPU, an 80-core GPU and 512GB of unified memory, with memory bandwidth of up to 1.2 terabytes per second. It is said to be designed for tasks such as colour-grading uncompressed 8K footage in real time, rendering complex VFX scenes and running large language models on-device. The Mac Studio with 512GB of unified memory will be available in late October.
Both Mac Studio models feature Thunderbolt 5, with transfer speeds of up to 120 gigabytes per second. The desktop supports up to eight displays, or up to four Studio Display XDR units at full 5K resolution and 120Hz.
The new Macs run on macOS 27 Golden Gate, bringing Siri AI and new Apple Intelligence features. Siri AI can use context from messages, emails and photos, work across apps and answer questions about what is on your screen.
