Amid severe adverse conditions created by cyclones Arnab and Murasu, over 2,000 personnel of the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) are working round-the-clock to restore power supply in the jurisdiction of A.P. Eastern Power Discom Limited (APEPDCL),
“The APSPDCL machinery, along with officials from other power discoms, is playing a key role in restoring the power infrastructure damaged by the impact of the cyclones in West Godavari district at the earliest,” said APSPDCL Chairman Siva Sankar Lotheti.
Mr. Siva Sankar Lotheti is the Special Supervisory Officer for West Godavari district. In a statement released to the media, he said, “APSPDCL has mobilised manpower on a large scale for restoration works, including directors, managers, engineers and field-level staff to participate in the massive operation.”
The APSPDCL chief has also been staying in West Godavari district for the past one week, assessing the actual ground-level situation and providing necessary instructions to the officials to complete the restoration works expeditiously.
Not only in the APEPDCL jurisdiction, but the APSPDCL is also extending its support to expedite the restoration of the power infrastructure damaged due to Cyclone Murasu in the APCPDCL jurisdiction, headquartered at Vijayawada.
The Chief Minister and Ministers of the State have appreciated the efforts being made by the Electricity department machinery to restore power supply during the severe and challenging conditions caused by the two consecutive cyclones.
