The Philippine women's kata team delivered the country's third medal in the 2026 Asian Games after finishing third in the tournament on Tuesday at the Toyohashi Gymnasium in Japan.

The team, composed of Samantha Veguillas, Ysabielle Arrogante, and Rebecca Torres, defeated Thailand with a 4-1 victory in their bronze medal bout earlier today.

On the way to the podium, the Filipinas beat Cambodia in the quarterfinals, 5-0, before absorbing a 0-5 loss to Iran in the semifinals that sent them to the battle for third.

The women's kata team marked the country's third bronze in the quadrennial event after Carlos Alvarez' feat in mixed martial arts men's traditional -77kg and women's soft tennis team in the team event.
