Asunmo Emerges CeBIH Chairman, Pledges Support for PSV - THISDAYLIVE

Group Head, e-Business and Transaction Banking, Premium Trust Bank, Mrs. Abidemi Asunmo, has emerged as the 10th Chairman of the Committee of e-Business Industry Heads (CeBIH), pledging to support the implementation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Payment System Vision 2028 (PSV 2028), strengthen industry advocacy and promote digital identity across Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.

Asunmo, unveiled an agenda centred on Payment System Vision 2028 implementation, advocacy, combat against fraud, digital identity, ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and inclusion during the 2026 CeBIH election and swearing-in ceremony.

Unveiling the administration’s priorities I a statement,  Asunmo said: “At the top of our agenda is our commitment to supporting the successful implementation of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Payment System Vision 2028,” which she said provides a roadmap covering “financial inclusion, digital payments growth, open banking, cybersecurity and regulatory efficiency.” 

She pledged that CeBIH would strengthen engagement with regulators and stakeholders to ensure that the vision translates “from policy into meaningful industry outcomes.”

On advocacy and inclusion, Asunmo said CeBIH would expand its engagement beyond regulators and industry stakeholders to ordinary Nigerians and consumers of banking services. 

“Our advocacy cannot stop with regulators and industry stakeholders; we must increasingly engage the Nigerian public—the ultimate beneficiaries of the financial ecosystem we are helping to build,” she said.
