OzHarvest run a market in Waterloo's public housing estate where they distribute food rescued from supermarkets to people in need for free.
Australia is throwing away the equivalent of 29 million meals a day. The latest report by OzHarvest and Circular Australia has also found less than one per cent of surplus food gets redistributed. That's all while more than three million households struggle with food insecurity.
