TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Avengers: Doomsday is already generating strong demand more than three months before its theatrical release, with Disney revealing that the Marvel film has surpassed $50 million in domestic presales.
The early ticket sales have fueled speculation among fans that the film could eventually reach $3 billion worldwide, although there are currently no official projections putting its final box office at that level.
As reported by SuperHeroHype.com and cited by Yahoo.com, Avengers: Doomsday has crossed the $50 million mark in domestic presales ahead of its December 18, 2026 release.
The milestone was highlighted by Hollywood Reporter journalist Borys Kit in a post on X. With presales opening well ahead of the film's theatrical debut, audiences still have more than three months to purchase tickets before the movie arrives in theaters.
The strong early presales quickly prompted bold predictions on social media, with some fans suggesting that Avengers: Doomsday could become a $3 billion global blockbuster.
One X user joked that the film could make “3 doomsillion,” while another predicted that it could surpass $3 billion globally by the end of its theatrical run. A third fan suggested the film could reach the figure within its first week.
However, those figures remain fan predictions rather than official box-office forecasts.
Presales can provide an indication of audience interest before a film's release, but they cannot determine its eventual worldwide gross. Factors including audience reception, competition from other releases and the film's performance in international markets will ultimately influence its box office.
If Avengers: Doomsday does reach $3 billion, it would join an extremely exclusive group of films. Avengers: Endgame earned approximately $2.799 billion worldwide and remains among the highest-grossing films in history.
The film's enormous ensemble could also help generate interest, bringing together characters from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Fantastic Four and the X-Men.
Robert Downey Jr. is set to return to the MCU as Doctor Doom after portraying Tony Stark/Iron Man. The cast also includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova.
The Fantastic Four are represented by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Several original X-Men actors are also returning, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Kelsey Grammer and Alan Cumming. Channing Tatum is reprising his role as Gambit.
With its huge ensemble and $50 million in early domestic presales, Avengers: Doomsday is already shaping up as one of 2026's major theatrical releases.
Whether that early momentum can translate into a $3 billion worldwide haul, however, remains to be seen.
