Ayurveda is not just a system of medicine, it is ancient knowledge that offers a healthy way of life, NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha said, after taking part in a programme at the Collectorate in Vijayawada to mark the 11th National Ayurveda Day on Saturday.
As part of the programme, a rally with the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthy Future” was also organised.
The Collector said Ayurveda has a special place in Indian culture and that its fundamental principles serve as a guide to comprehensive healthcare.
He noted that healthy people are the foundation of a healthy society and stressed the need to give due importance to the country’s ancient medical knowledge systems in building a healthy society.
NTR District AYUSH Officer Y. Ratna Priyadarshini, senior medical officers from Ayurvedic hospitals, UG and PG students, staff, and medical officers participated in the programme, jointly organised by the State AYUSH department, Dr. NRS Government Ayurvedic College, Dr. AL Government Ayurvedic Hospital, and the district administration.
