A bomb threat was reported for the second consecutive day at an airport in a European country. Following the report, passengers and airport staff were quickly evacuated, while specialized teams from the Ministry of the Interior were dispatched to the scene.
The alarm was reported at the airport in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. In a statement released via Telegram, the Moldovan Border Police announced that passengers and staff had been evacuated for safety reasons and reported that special teams affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior had been sent to the scene.
Following the bomb threat, check-in procedures at the airport were temporarily suspended. Officials noted that scheduled flights might be affected and urged passengers to check the status of their flights on the airport’s online information screen.
Another notable detail regarding the incident was that it occurred for the second consecutive day. A similar threat had been reported at the airport on Friday as well; following an investigation by specialized teams dispatched to the scene, the threat was determined to be unfounded.
Although no dangerous elements were found following the first report, the fact that a similar alarm was triggered again the next day led to increased security measures at the airport. It was reported that expert teams are continuing their investigations following the latest threat.
Located west of the Black Sea, Moldova is one of the region’s key countries despite not having a direct coastline. The country borders Romania to the west and Ukraine to the north, east, and south.
