BARMM polls: Gunshots reported at Cotabato precincts – watchdog

(Photo courtesy of PPCRV-Cotabato/screengrab) MANILA, Philippines — Gunshots were reported at San Vicente Academy in Cotabato City on Monday afternoon amid the first Bangsamoro parliamentary elections, according to election watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).
In a briefing at the PPCRV Command Center in Makati City, BARMM regional coordinator Father Dave Procalla said the incident occurred at 2:47 p.m.
No casualties were recorded in the incident.
“So far, because the shooting is over, it was only for a moment,” Procalla said, noting that all the volunteers and voters are safe.
Gunshots were also reported at the Vilo Central Elementary School precinct in Cotabato City.
The investigation into these incidents is ongoing. /mcm
