BARMM polls now open for seniors, PWDs, pregnant moms

Inquirer graphics MANILA, Philippines — Senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women can now cast their votes during the early voting period for the first Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Parliamentary elections.

The early voting hours will run from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m.

With this, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reminded early voters to fully shade the circle opposite the candidates of their choice, dry the ink on the ballot and wait for 30 seconds after shading before proceeding to the automated counting machine (ACM) to insert their ballots.

The Comelec then warned the voters against taking photos or videos of their ballot and voter receipts and scanning the QR code in their voter receipt.

The historic parliamentary elections, which were postponed four times, are set to fill the 80-seat parliament, of which 40 seats are allotted to political parties, 32 seats to district representatives, and eight to sectoral organizations. /cb
