Bears-Packers Week 5 game flexed to early window - Bears Wire

The Chicago Bears will face their hated rivals, the Green Bay Packers, in a key NFC North showdown in Week 5. But the matchup might not be as appealing as previously expected.

The NFL has moved the Bears-Packers game on Oct. 11 from 4:25 p.m. ET to 1 p.m. ET on FOX. The Seattle Seahawks-San Francisco 49ers game will now be the "Game of the Week" in that late window on FOX.

While the arrival of Ben Johnson has reignited the Bears-Packers rivalry, Chicago will likely be without starting quarterback Caleb Williams in this game, as he's expected to miss three-to-four weeks after his hamstring injury back in Week 2. It also doesn't help that Green Bay has struggled this season, which likely prompted moving this game to the early window.

The Bears have won three of the last four meetings against the Packers, including two last season, most notably in a wild-card playoff game. While Williams likely won't be under center, there's still plenty to watch in this historic rivalry, especially as far as division seeding is concerned.
