Wonders will never cease with the issue of data centres and urban safety.
Last week, the governor of Bangkok stood flanked by a coterie of assistants and staff and declared, grimly, a moratorium on data-centre construction in Bangkok. This followed the discovery of a huge quantity of fuel stored haphazardly underground on one of the city's busiest thoroughfares.
At the recent press conference featuring the governor and his team, they voiced confidence in the performance capabilities of data centres, and the hue and cry of the previous week faded into a half-forgotten anecdote.
