Bihar labourer found murdered with eyes gouged out; wife, 2 children missing

A 35-year-old man was found murdered inside a rented room in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur on Friday, with both his eyes gouged out. His wife and two children, who lived with him at the house, have been missing since the incident, police said.MILKMAN DISCOVERS BODY

The man had rented the room around two months ago from landlord Shiv Shankar Singh for Rs 1,800 per month. He worked as a labourer and lived at the house with his wife and two children.

According to the landlord, he was not aware of any dispute within the family.

On Friday morning, the milkman arrived at the house as usual. After delivering milk to the first tenant, he went to the man's room and knocked on the door. When there was no response, he noticed that the door was slightly open and pushed it.

The milkman then found the man's body inside the room and raised an alarm. The Dial-112 emergency service was subsequently informed.POLICE, FSL TEAM INVESTIGATE

Following the alert, a team from Ahiyapur police station reached the spot. Town-2 SDPO Karthikeyan K.A. also visited the crime scene, while an Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was called in to collect evidence.

Ahiyapur SHO Sharat Kumar said police had received information about the death of a man on Chanakyapuri Road No. 6. The FSL team is collecting evidence from the scene, following which the body will be sent for post-mortem examination.

Police are also gathering information about the deceased's wife and two children, who remain missing from the house.
