The southern regional round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2026 was held at the JNTU Auditorium in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, on Saturday, bringing together engineering and management students from leading institutions across the region.

The quiz tested participants on their knowledge, analytical abilities, presence of mind and awareness of developments in technology, business and management.

The regional round was inaugurated by NTPC executive director (Engineering) Deepak, who encouraged the participants to approach the competition with curiosity and confidence. General Manager (HR) Neeraj Kumar Roy highlighted the role of such platforms in promoting young talent, knowledge sharing and healthy competition.

Atithan V. and Achintya Naik of BITS Pilani secured the first position in the competition. Their institute-mates R. Shyam Sundar and Sai Sreerama M. finished runners-up, while Kritigya Sharma and M. Jain of the Institute of Public Enterprise secured the third position.

The top two teams will now advance to the semi-finals to be held in New Delhi, where they will represent the southern region and compete against teams that qualify from other regional rounds.
