Senior BJP leader Gudur Narayana Reddy demanded that the State government release a comprehensive White Paper on all government and public land involved in litigation across TG.
He demanded that the White Paper provide district-wise details of disputed government properties, including survey numbers, land extent, the year litigation commenced, the court or tribunal concerned, the present stage of proceedings and any interim orders.
Citing the recent Supreme Court judgment in the Miyapur land dispute, he said the government must disclose the extent, estimated market value, legal status and duration of pending cases involving valuable public properties.
Citing a recent review by the Hyderabad District Collector, he said 238 court cases involved approximately 12 lakh square yards of government land, against the district’s total government land bank of 21.74 lakh square yards. This meant more than half the available government land was under litigation, with Shaikpet mandal accounting for the highest number of disputes at around 50. He further pointed out that nearly 7,000 cases concerning Revenue department matters and Section 22-A prohibited property lists were pending, largely before the High Court, while the Waqf Board faced approximately 5,500 disputes across various judicial forums. He said high-value land disputes also continued in Kancha Gachibowli, Kukatpally and Manchirevula.
