BMW X3 M50 xDrive gets more power and new Black Package
BMW has announced a new Black Package for the X3 M50 xDrive, adding black exterior and interior details, while the performance SUV also gains more power from its turbocharged straight-six engine.
Exclusive to the X3 M50 xDrive, the Black Package adds 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black alloy wheels, which are one inch larger than the standard wheels. Other M light-alloy wheel designs remain available as options.
The M Sport brake callipers are finished in high-gloss black with a monochrome M logo, while the exterior M logos and model badges are finished in high-gloss black with silver outlines.
The cabin has carbon and Alcantara finishes with blue accents. Picture: BMW Inside, Alcantara is used on sections of the driverβs-side dashboard, the area ahead of the central display, the smartphone tray with inductive charging, door trims and centre-console armrest.
The black Alcantara/Veganza seats feature blue stitching and piping, while the M logos on the headrests are embossed into the Alcantara. Black floor mats with blue piping feature the M-colour flag, while selected controls are finished with BMW Individual CraftedClarity glass.
The M steering wheel features a leather-covered airbag impact absorber, while carbon-look trim is also fitted to the cabin.
The X3 M50 xDrive also gains more engine power. Its 3.0l twin-turbocharged straight-six petrol engine, assisted by a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, now produces 326kW β an increase of 33kW.

Using the one-foot rollout measurement method, which allows the vehicle to move a short distance before timing begins, the same sprint takes 4.1 seconds.
The power increase applies to all X3 M50 xDrive models and is not dependent on the Black Package.
The BMW X3 M50 Black Package is scheduled to become available in South Africa during the third quarter of 2027. Pricing will beconfirmed closer to the date.
