Brahmotsavams: Chief Minister Naidu offers ‘silk vastrams’ to Tirumala temple

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on his way to offer a pair of ‘silk vastrams’ to the temple of Lord Venkateswara on behalf of the State government on Tuesday. His wife Bhuvaneswari, son and IT Minister Nara Lokesh and his wife Brahmani are seen.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday presented a pair of ‘silk vastrams’ to Lord Venkateswara. The customary offering was made on behalf of the State government for the annual Brahmotsavams, which got off to a spiritual start in the evening.

Mr. Naidu carried the ‘silk vastrams’, placed on a silver plate, on his head and proceeded towards the main temple in a ceremonial procession. The procession was led by caparisoned elephants, horses and bulls, and accompanied by other temple paraphernalia.

Inside the temple, Mr. Naidu handed over the vastrams to the chief priest and offered prayers to the presiding deity.

His wife N. Bhuvaneswari, son and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, and daughter-in-law Nara Brahmini also accompanied him into the temple.

Later, the priests rendered ‘Vedasirvachanams’ on the Chief Minister and his entourage, while TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Executive Officer Muddada Ravichandra presented them with the laddu and ‘theertha prasadam’ of the deity.
