The Joey Porter Jr. saga has officially come to an end for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as the team agreed to trade away their superstar cornerback to the NFC East.

On Wednesday night, the Steelers and Cowboys agreed to a trade in which Dallas received Porter in exchange for a 2027 sixth-round draft pick and a 2028 second-round draft pick.

Porter, who began training camp on the physically unable to perform list with a back injury, was heavily linked to trade rumors after contract talks broke down before the start of the regular season. He's missed the past three weeks with an NIR/conditioning/back injury designation, but many speculated the issue was related to the contract drama rather than an actual health setback.

This is now the third trade the Steelers have made with the Cowboys in just under a year and a half, as Pittsburgh previously traded George Pickens and Broderick Jones to Dallas in two separate deals for 2026 and 2027 third-round draft picks, respectively.

While we at Steelers Wire are disappointed Porter has left Pittsburgh, we're definitely glad the team can finally put this ugly situation behind them.
