Brigitte Bardot's personal belongings to go under hammer in Paris

Personal belongings of late French actress and singer Brigitte Bardot, including the ballet flats that inspired an iconic Repetto shoe and a diamond-set ring, will go under the hammer on Monday in Paris. French auction house Millon will offer 285 lots from Bardot's homes in Paris and the southern French resort town of Saint-Tropez at Hotel Drouot, one of France's best-known auction venues. The collection includes clothing, furniture, photographs, jewelry, musical instruments and everyday objects, as well as memorabilia from Bardot's career and her later life devoted to animal protection. Among the highlights are Repetto ballet flats. Millon said Bardot asked French shoemaker Rose Repetto in 1956 to create a flat, flexible shoe inspired by ballet footwear but suitable for everyday wear. The resulting Cendrillon model became associated with Bardot after she wore it in the 1956 film "And God Created Woman." Jewelry in the sale includes a Mellerio ring set with a 3.67-carat diamond, while other lots include guitars, an Olivetti Lettera 22 typewriter, hats, perfume bottles and furniture from Bardot's homes. The sale also features objects from La Madrague, Bardot's famous seaside home in Saint-Tropez, which she acquired in 1958 and that became closely associated with her public image. Bardot became an international film star in the 1950s, particularly after "And God Created Woman," directed by Roger Vadim. She retired from acting at 38 and increasingly used her public profile to promote animal protection. She founded the Fondation Brigitte Bardot in 1986. The French animal protection organization says it now operates in 70 countries. Bardot died December 28, 2025, at 91. Millon said the proceeds from Monday's auction will go to the Fondation Brigitte Bardot and Bardot's only son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier.
