Broncos PFF grades: Best, worst players in 'MNF' loss to Chiefs - Broncos Wire

The Denver Broncos (0-1) struggled in a 31-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) on Monday Night Football in Week 1. Following that ugly defeat, here are Denver's best (and worst) player grades from Pro Football Focus.

Nobody on offense posted a grade above 80. One bright spot was tight end Evan Engram hauling in four receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown.

It was a night to forget for Bo Nix in his return from an ankle injury. The third-year quarterback was sacked four times, fumbled three times and threw an interception. His new weapon, Jaylen Waddle, had just a single two-yard catch on three targets. Waddle also had a bad drop.

It was a rough night all around for the defense, but Allen was a bright spot with five tackles, three quarterback hits and two sacks.

Denver ran it back with Justin Strnad and Alex Singleton as their starting linebackers this season. And the Chiefs rushed for 220 yards on Monday.

On an otherwise forgettable night, Marvin Mims returned two punts for 36 yards. He has now averaged 15.9 yards per punt return in his career, setting a new NFL record.
