Working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao has stated that youth are very disappointed with the BJP-led Government at the Centre and Congress Government in the State for fulfilling the promises made to them and the party (BRS) stands a good chance to retain the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar Graduates Constituency seat in the Legislative Council.

In a meeting with the party leaders of the three combined districts here on Monday, he said the party had fielded former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao’s daughter S. Vani Devi in the last election and won the seat by working together as a team and with a plan. The party could repeat the feat this time too with the same spirit, he said.

The circumstances prevailing were much favourable to BRS and it was for the party leaders to ensure that all eligible persons (graduates) registered themselves as voters for the forthcoming election. Mr. Rama Rao stated that BJP’s popularity was on the decline and its leadership was worried about the youth being distanced from the party. In the State, opposition to the Congress among people was also at the peak, he said.

As the circumstances were not favourable to the two national parties, support to the BRS among all sections including graduates and youth was on the rise and could help win the two Graduates’ seats - the other one being Warangal-Khammam and Nalgonda. Discontent was simmering among both the government employees and the youth, and the BRS could win over them, he said.

Meanwhile, Suryapet MLA and former Minister G. Jagadish Reddy inaugurated graduate voter enrolment help district at Suryapet on Monday.
