Bruno Fernandes has shared heartfelt words about Cristiano Ronaldo, who has officially announced his retirement from the Portugal national team.

On 6 Nov 2026 GMT+7, Bruno Fernandes, the Portuguese midfielder for Manchester United, a prominent Premier League club, revealed touching remarks about fellow Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who officially announced his retirement from the 'Seleção das Quinas' (Portugal national team) just last evening, according to Thai time.

Cristiano Ronaldo concluded an illustrious 23-year international career spanning from 2003 to 2026, leaving behind outstanding achievements including holding the record for most appearances for a national team worldwide with 234 matches, being the all-time top male international goal scorer with 146 goals, scoring in six consecutive FIFA World Cup final tournaments, and holding the record as the top scorer in UEFA European Championship finals with 14 goals.

He also led Portugal to victory in the UEFA European Championship in 2016, securing the nation's first-ever European title, as well as winning the UEFA Nations League in the 2018–19 and 2024–25 seasons.

Recently, Bruno Fernandes said, “Thank you for the inspiration. It has been a great honor to share such monumental moments in our national team alongside you. This is not merely a chapter in a book but history that you have shaped. You are an icon to the entire world, not just Portugal. Portugal is in your heart, and you will remain in the hearts of people worldwide. This historical page may change, but there is still history that we will continue to write together.”
