Miami football has landed one of the nation's top offensive prospects in what's been an incredible year for the Hurricanes on the recruiting trail.

Jacksonville (Florida) Mandarin five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright announced his commitment to the Hurricanes on Thursday, Nov. 5. Wright, a member of USA TODAY Sports preseason All-America team, chose Miami over several national programs, giving coach Mario Cristobal a major addition.

The 6-foot-3.5, 215-pound receiver also announced other massive news, as he'll be reclassifying from the 2028 class to the 2027 class, something A'mir Sears also did earlier this year after committing to Miami. Both USA TODAY Sports’ latest composite and 247Sports’ composite ranked Wright as the No. 3 overall player in the 2028 class.

"They were telling me how good it was," Wright told the Florida Times-Union. "I went down there and stayed with Somourian, and you know A1 [Sears] and Nick and Mali [Toney] and all the boys are already there. For me, knowing a lot of people already on staff just made it better."

Miami's pursuit of Wright has been bolstered by its early relationship with the Mandarin standout and the opportunity to remain close to home.

The Hurricanes were the first program to offer Wright, and Miami's coaching staff has continued to prioritize him throughout his recruitment.

Wright also has a connection to Miami through Mandarin quarterback Knox Annis, who committed to the Hurricanes in April. Miami wide receiver Malachi Toney has also publicly recruited Wright, making a pitch for the five-star prospect to join him in Coral Gables.

Wright has backed up his five-star status with three productive varsity seasons at Mandarin.

As a freshman in 2024, he recorded 31 receptions for 646 yards and eight touchdowns. He followed that with 46 catches for 983 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2025. Through 10 games of his junior season, Wright has recorded 46 receptions for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding 26 tackles, 2 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries on defense.

With Wright committed, the Hurricanes have secured one of the premier wide receiver prospects in the 2027 class and further strengthened their efforts to keep elite in-state talent in Florida.

"I'm just ready to get down there and grind, just try to be one of the best," Wright said. "That's my goal, to be the best."
