Bus & car collide in Tampines, girl, 6, injured - Mothership
The bus apparently had the right of way.
A six-year-old girl was injured in a traffic incident involving a car and a bus in Tampines.
The incident occurred on Sep. 16 at about 4pm at the junction of Tampines Central 1 and Tampines Central 3.
According to Shin Min Daily News, a passerby, identified as Yu (transliterated), 60, said she was passing by the area when she heard a loud bang.
When she approached the scene, she found that a bus had collided with a silver car.
The front of the bus collided with the car's left side, and both vehicles stopped on the road.
Traffic police were also present at the scene.
In response to queries from Mothership, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the incident at about 4:25pm.
SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu said bus service 8 was heading towards the junction, and the traffic light was in its favour.
However, a vehicle travelling along Tampines Central 1 allegedly did not stop at the red light, resulting in a collision.
A six-year-old female bus passenger was conveyed conscious to the hospital and later received outpatient treatment.
SBS Transit has kept in contact with the girlβs family and provided care and support.
The remaining passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their journey.
